UPGRADE FROM WINDOWS VISTA TO WINDOWS 10

Upgrade from Windows Vista to Windows 10? You may be interested in this upgrade when your current computer is no longer functioning properly. Or you would like to have your computer upgraded because it has been some time since your last update. Whichever your reason is, if you wish to upgrade from Windows Vista to Windows 10, we are happy to help you!

Do you still use Windows Vista?

Windows Vista is a Microsoft Windows operating system for PCs. This operating system is the successor to Windows XP and has been developed for home and business use. This version of the Windows operating system was first released to business users on November 30, 2006. Home users had to wait a little longer. For home users Windows Vista was released on January 20, 2007. This version of the Microsoft operating system has since been succeeded by a newer version, Windows 7. The successor of Windows Vista was released on July 22, 2009 for business use and on October 22, 2009 for home use.

Windows Vista had some interesting features compared to the previous operating system. Strong developments have been made in the field of interface in particular. The interface is more advanced than the previous version(s). In addition, stability has been improved, the kernel has been updated in several areas, and the system includes a new multimedia API DirectX 10. In addition, a major development in security has taken place. Windows Vista contains better protection against exploiting bugs, viruses and other malware.

Windows Vista support ended

As of April 11, 2017, Windows Vista users will no longer receive new security updates, non-security patches, free or paid options for personalized support, or updates to Microsoft online technical content. Do you still use Windows Vista on your PC? Then unfortunately you can no longer perform updates and you are more vulnerable to viruses and other security risks. It is possible to continue using the PC, but there are greater risks associated with the lack of updates. Do you wish to upgrade your PC from Windows Vista to Windows 10? This is, unfortunately, not possible with a free upgrade.  Windows Vista is excluded from this.

Where can I see if I am using Windows Vista?

To find out which version of Windows your PC is currently running on, follow these steps accordingly:

1. Click on “Start”

2. Go to the search box and type “Winver” and search

3. Double click on “Winver” to open the dialog box “About Windows”

4. From this dialog you can find out which version of Windows is installed on your PC

The consequences if you continue to use Windows Vista

Have you followed the steps above? And, did it turn out that you are still using Windows Vista? Then you can choose to continue using this version of Microsoft, but we still recommend that you choose an upgrade to Windows 10. Are you curious why? We are happy to explain it to you!

If you continue to use Windows Vista and do not switch to a newer version, you can of course continue to use your PC as you are used to. However, the biggest danger is that new updates will no longer be performed, making the operating system more vulnerable to security risks. In addition, support for Internet Explorer and other programs and apps on your PC will also be dropped. This is because both Microsoft and other software and hardware manufacturers no longer focus on Windows Vista. Their focus is on newer versions of the Microsoft operating systems such as Windows 10.

The benefits of Windows 10

Would you like to upgrade your PC from Windows Vista to Windows 10? Then you will immediately benefit from the many advantages that Windows 10 has to offer. The biggest advantage of switching from Windows Vista to Windows 10 is the many new features. The most striking new feature is the new interface and corresponding new Windows 10 start menu. This new interface combines the best aspects of the previous Windows versions, such as the square icons of Windows 8 with some older functions going back to even Windows 97!

How do I upgrade to Windows 10?

You can upgrade to Windows 10 in two different ways. Before purchasing a new Windows 10 license, it is important to first check whether your PC supports the new license. Especially the very outdated PCs will not support the new license. Are you unsure whether your PC still meets the requirements for upgrading? Please check the Windows 10 specifications page before purchasing a new license. If your PC is outdated and no longer supports Windows 10, it may be time to consider purchasing a new PC.

Does your PC meet the requirements to upgrade to a new version of Windows? Then you can choose between Windows 10 Pro and Windows 10 Home. The difference between these two versions? They are virtually equivalent. The only major difference is that the Pro license is aimed at the business user and the Home license at the home user. Both licenses therefore receive the same security updates and features. When you have purchased the new license, you will receive it in your mailbox within five minutes! You will also receive a downloadable version and a valid product key to install Windows 10 on your PC.
